How to Register to Vote

Registering to vote is the first step to casting a ballot in any election, state, or federal. To vote in Laramie County, you must fulfill the requirements laid out by Wyoming and United States law - additionally, you must be able to prove you qualify to vote with documentation. You can find comprehensive information on voting in Laramie County on the County Clerk's website.

Voter Qualifications & Requirements:

Voters must...

  • Be at least 18 years of age on or before Election Day

  • Be a United States citizen

  • Be a resident of Wyoming and of the precinct in which you register

  • Be a resident of Wyoming for not less than 30 days before the date of the election

  • Not convicted of a felony, or if convicted, have had your Wyoming voting rights restored

  • Not be adjudicated mentally incompetent

Voter applicants must be able to provide proof of...

Bring any one of these documents:

  • Unexpired, valid Wyoming driver’s license

  • Unexpired, valid Wyoming identification card

  • Tribal identification card issued by the governing body of the Eastern Shoshone tribe of Wyoming, the Northern Arapaho tribe of Wyoming or other federally recognized Indian tribe

  • Valid United States passport

  • Unexpired, valid driver’s license or identification card issued by the federal government, any state, or outlying possession of the United States

  • Photo identification card issued by the University of Wyoming, a Wyoming Community College, or a Wyoming public school provided it bears the individual's legal name

  • United States military card

  • Identification card issued to a dependent of a member of the United States Armed Forces​

OR
Bring any two of these documents:

  • Certificate of United States Citizenship

  • Certificate of Naturalization

  • United States military draft record or selective service card or record

  • Voter registration card from another state or county

  • United States Social Security Card

  • Certificate of Birth Abroad issued by the Department of State

  • Original or certified copy of birth certificate bearing an official seal

  • Any other form of identification issued by an official agency of the United States or a state

  • Void Wyoming driver’s license or identification card issued by the State of Wyoming

  • Temporary driver’s license or identification card issued by the State of Wyoming

I'm already registered, now what?

If you have registered to vote recently (within the last few months), you're ready to cast a ballot! However, Wyoming purges voter rolls each February according to state law. It's a good idea to verify your voter status is active every election year.

Where to Vote in Laramie County

On Election Day, there are several voting locations across Laramie County for residents to use. However, if you choose to vote during the Early Election period, you can only vote at the Laramie County Governmental Complex at 309 W 20th St. during the business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Vote Early?

Early voting gives you the opportunity to cast a ballot without the stress and long lines of Election Day. Early Voting is a secure way to vote in-person at a time more convenient for you. The Early Voting period for Primary Elections runs July 21 through August 17, 2026.

Early Voting Locations (July 21-August 17):

You can cast a ballot for the Primary Election at the Laramie County Governmental Complex at 309 W. 20th St. in Cheyenne anytime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
